What Did Putin Write to Robert Kocharian? Clarification from the Russian President's Spokesman

“It is true (he has congratulated), ... (the letter) was a New Year’s greeting and best wishes,” said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, in response to reporters' questions.

According to RIA Novosti, Peskov earlier stated that Putin and Kocharian share long-standing good relations that are not affected by any events happening in Armenia.

Recall that the office of the second president of Armenia announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin had congratulated Robert Kocharian on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas.

“Warmly congratulating the former president, Putin wished Kocharian good health, strength of spirit, and perseverance,” the statement said.
