Snow and Blizzard on Several Roads of the Republic

The Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia informs that as of December 28, at 15:00, snow is falling on the roads of the regions of Tashir, Ashotsk, Aparan, Stepanavan, Sevan, Yeghvard, Gavar, Martuni, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor, Vardenis, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Kapan, and Meghri, as well as on the Artashavan road section.

Due to heavy snowfall and low visibility, the roads in the Ashotsk region are impassable.

Blizzard conditions are observed on the Kuchak-Aparan-Mirak road, as well as on the Keti and Jajur mountain passes.

There is black ice on the roads in the Sisian and Ashotsk regions, on the Artik-Aragats road section, and in the Vardenyats Pass.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed due to heavy snow and lack of visibility.

Road construction workers are conducting cleaning operations and treating the roads with salt and sand.

All other interstate and national roads are open.

According to information received from the Armenian embassy in Georgia, as of December 28, at 15:30, the Gudauri-Kobi section leading to Upper Lars is closed to all means of transport.
