Jermuk Group Founder Has Smuggled His Son Out of Armenia: Hraparak

According to the Hraparak newspaper, until the snap elections, Ashot Arsenyan, the founder and president of Jermuk Group LLC, was considered an ally of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During a visit to the Vayots Dzor region, Pashinyan even was received at Arsenyan's younger son Vahagn's farm.

However, after the elections, Arsenyan's son, Vahagn, has also become a target of Pashinyan's government.

It is known that both of Arsenyan's sons were exempted from mandatory military service. The elder son, Arsen Arsenyan, married during his studies and was exempted from military service based on family deferment for having two children. The younger son, Vahagn Arsenyan, was exempted on health grounds reportedly related to vision issues.

Recently, according to our sources, the case regarding Arsenyan's son’s exemption has been reopened, and Arsenyan, understanding the impending difficulties for his son, has moved him to Russia.

We have also learned that for his son’s sake, the businessman purchased tickets for an entire extended family to travel, so that his son would not spend the New Year's holidays alone in the cold of Russia.
