Earthquake 10 km Southeast of Ashotzk Village in Shirak Province
On December 26, 2023, at 00:09 local time (20:09 on December 25, Greenwich Mean Time), the seismic protection service of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7. The epicenter was located at a geographical coordinate of 41.020 degrees north latitude and 43.980 degrees east longitude, approximately 10 km southeast of Ashotzk village in Shirak Province, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the tremor at the epicenter was measured at 3-4 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt in the villages of Bavra and Ashotzk with a magnitude of 3.
