Blizzard Conditions on Certain Roads in the Republic

The Stepantsminda – Lars road is open only for light passenger vehicles. According to the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, the Armenian embassy in Georgia has informed the ministry that as of December 26 at 10:00 AM, due to adverse weather conditions, the Gudauri-Kobi section leading to Upper Lars is closed for vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers.

However, the road is accessible for passenger vehicles.

As of 09:30, blizzard conditions have been reported on the Artik-Aragats and Aparan-Mirak roads.

On the roads of the Sisian region, especially in the Artik-Aragats section and in the Vardenyats mountain pass, there are patches of black ice.

The Vardenyats mountain pass is closed for heavy and trailer vehicles.

Road construction teams are working on clearing the roads and applying salt and sand treatments.

All other interstate and republican roads remain open.
