Iranian Armed with Taser Attempts to Rob Mellat Bank in Yerevan

On December 24, at around 10:15 AM, a young man entered the Mellat Bank located on Tumanyan Street in Yerevan, presenting demands in Persian, and threatened employees with a knife and taser.

This was reported by the Armenian police. Officers from the police's Patrol Service responded quickly, neutralized the suspect, and handed him over to the Central Police Department.

As a result of the actions taken by the officers of the Central Police Department, it was established that the detainee is an Iranian citizen, Morteza Ghorban Joshoar, born in 1982, who demanded money from the bank employees under the threat of a taser.

A criminal case has been initiated based on the features of Article 175 of the RA Criminal Code. Morteza Ghorban Joshoar has been arrested.

It was also discovered that on December 21, at 9:15 PM, Morteza Ghorban Joshoar had visited a pharmacy on Tigran the Great Avenue as a customer and demanded money from the pharmacy staff with a taser, but the crime was not completed due to unforeseen circumstances. The investigation is ongoing.
