Arshak Karapetyan Testifies Against Robert Kocharyan

The newly appointed advisor to the Prime Minister of Armenia, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, General Major Arshak Karapetyan has testified against Robert Kocharyan, said Kocharyan's lawyer Hayk Alumyans during a meeting with journalists today.

"There is indeed such a thing that the individual has testified against Mr. Kocharyan. Mr. Kocharyan insists that this is a clearly false testimony, and there has been an attempt to confront them, which failed for certain reasons I wouldn’t want to detail," Hayk Alumyans added.

“Also, Arshak Karapetyan was one of the deputies under Yuri Khachaturov based on order number '0038'. As to why he has now been appointed as an advisor, I cannot comment on that,” said Hayk Alumyans.

It should be noted that the appointment of Arshak Karapetyan has been received with mixed reactions in society. Until April 26, 2016, he held the position of head of the intelligence department of the Armed Forces General Staff and was dismissed from that role after the April war.
