Lukashenko Signs Decision on Stanislav Zas Appointment as CSTO Secretary General
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has signed a decision regarding the appointment of Stanislav Zas, the Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, as the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
The Belarusian news agency "BELA" reports that Lukashenko held a working meeting with Zas, during which Zas presented details of his visits to several member countries of the CSTO.
According to him, the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Russia have approved his candidacy for the position of CSTO Secretary General.
It is noted that Lukashenko proposed such a format for the appointment of the new CSTO Secretary General back in November during a meeting of the leaders of CSTO member states in St. Petersburg.
