Why Putin Hasn’t Congratulated Pashinyan
The protocol of intergovernmental relations does not foresee such congratulations. This was stated today by the Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin during a meeting with journalists, commenting on the question of why Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet congratulated Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his victory in the parliamentary elections.
“I want to say that this is an issue of intergovernmental protocol. Such congratulations are not customary; congratulations usually occur when there is an appointment,” said the Russian ambassador.
