Manvel Grigoryan Is Being Subjected to Slow Death, Lawyer Claims
A political decision has been made to keep Manvel Grigoryan in a hostage status and subject him to slow death. This was announced by the detained general's lawyer, Levon Baghdasaryan, during a meeting with journalists, asserting that Grigoryan is being held unlawfully as there are no grounds for his detention.
“In Grigoryan’s case, the court consistently extends the detention order, obediently fulfilling the orders of the Special Investigative Service. This is unacceptable,” he detailed.
The lawyer noted that Grigoryan has been charged with embezzlement in relation to the criminal case, with the investigative body recording damages amounting to 7 million drams, which has already been transferred to the Prosecutor's deposit account in September.
Levon Baghdasaryan stated that inspections related to this criminal case have begun starting from the 1990s concerning companies owned by Manvel Grigoryan and his close associates.
