Difficult Road Conditions Reported; Black Ice in Some Areas, Says Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that as of December 18 at 08:30, there are difficult road conditions across the country.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable and closed for cargo vehicles.

The Sotk-Karvachar road is also impassable.

There are patches of black ice on the Kapan-Kajaran road.

Snow is falling in the Kotayk region, the town of Aparan in Aragatsotn region, and in the Vardenyats Pass.

Drivers are advised to travel in the regions only with winter tires.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Stepanavan-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.

Information from the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia indicates that there are queued vehicles on the Russian side.
