They Are Not Political Prisoners: Zeynalyan on Members of Sasna Tsrer
I do not consider the members of the 'Sasna Tsrer' group, who were not pardoned, to be political prisoners. This was stated today by the acting Minister of Justice of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan during a conversation with reporters.
“I believe they are not political prisoners. An exception has been made in the pardon law for those convicted of murder,” he emphasized.
It should be noted that a pardon was announced on the occasion of the 2800th anniversary of the founding of Erebuni-Yerevan and the 100th anniversary of the independence of the First Armenian Republic.
The members of the 'Sasna Tsrer' group, Armen Bilian and Smbat Barseghyan, faced charges of murder and were not included in the pardon.
