Lukashenko Aims to Create Tensions in Armenian-Russian Military-Political Relations: Veranyan

Political analyst Karen Veranyan believes that Lukashenko seeks to artificially create tension in Armenian-Russian military-political relations with two main objectives.

The first is that the Belarusian president's anti-Armenian political statements are not so much directed against Armenia, but primarily against Russia.

The second is that by leveraging the Armenian-Russian relationship, Lukashenko is promoting the interests of Ankara and Baku, which send messages against both Armenia and Russia.

It is noteworthy that the Belarusian leader specifically spoke about his dialogue with acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which he said:

“Nikol, let’s put everything in its place. Who ranks first in selling weapons to Azerbaijan? Russia. So why are you silent—speak up, criticize Vladimir Vladimirovich, are you afraid?”
