Injured Soldier's Condition is Moderately Severe: Details
On December 16, at approximately 15:50, a soldier of the Artsakh Defense Army, born in 1999, Rafik Hakobi Vahanyan, sustained a gunshot wound at a guard post of one of the military units deployed in the southern direction.
The injured soldier was immediately transported to a military hospital, and his condition is assessed as moderately severe.
Investigations are underway to clarify the details of the incident. Later, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reported that the soldier was injured on December 16, 2018, at around 15:50, at the combat position of military unit N, due to a fellow serviceman inadvertently pulling the trigger of a flare gun. According to preliminary data, the soldier was unaware that a flare rocket was in the gun, which resulted in the rocket injuring the right eye of his fellow serviceman, conscript private Rafik Hakobi Vahanyan.
