Black Ice, Difficult Roads: What is the Situation

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that as of 09:00 on December 17, there are difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is open only for passenger vehicles.

The Sotk-Karvachar road is impassable.

There are patches of black ice on the Alagyaz-Artik road.

Drivers are advised to travel in the regions exclusively with winter tires.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Information from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia branch indicates that there are accumulated vehicles on the Russian side.
