As Unpleasant as It Is, Batka Is Right: Aram Sargsyan
As unpleasant and tactless as it may be, Batka is right, and if we have something to say within the CSTO, it should primarily be directed towards Russia, the main arms supplier to Azerbaijan, our strategic partner, and main ally. This was stated by Aram Sargsyan, the president of the Republic party, on his Facebook page.
Sargsyan specifically noted:
“In my opinion, it is pointless to talk. We just need to quietly, step by step, increase our cooperation with NATO, and their attitude towards us will undoubtedly change. I am convinced that as much as we need Russia, they need us just as much; otherwise, their border will cross into the Krasnodar region.”
It is worth recalling that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, in a conversation with journalists, addressed his communications with acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, recounting their discussion on arms sales to Azerbaijan during the CIS leaders' meeting in St. Petersburg at the beginning of December.
“In Putin's presence, I said, 'Nikol, let’s set everything straight. Who is in the first place selling weapons to Azerbaijan? Who, Russia? So why are you silent? Tell him (referring to Putin), go ahead, criticize Vladimir Vladimirovich, are you afraid? And in the second place, who is it? Israel, the third is Turkey, and the fourth, considering the 'Polonaise', is Belarus. Why are you attacking the Belarusians? You’re attacking your own people so that others understand something? If so, tell me, I will be silent. That was the kind of conversation we had,'” Lukashenko recounted.
