Multimillion Dollar Misappropriations: Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs Clarifies

The State Regulatory Service has not conducted any inspections in the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. This was stated by Astghik Martirosyan, the press secretary of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Armenia, in a Facebook post referring to an article by "Zhamanak" claiming that the SRP found multimillion-dollar misappropriations within the Ministry.

The post reads as follows:

“As the press secretary of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Armenia, I officially declare that none of the facts mentioned in the article titled ‘Multimillion Dollar Theft in the Ministry of Sports’ published by the newspaper "Zhamanak" correspond to reality.

The State Regulatory Service has not conducted any inspections in the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and, naturally, the information provided by the newspaper does not reflect reality. My colleagues at “Zhamanak” would do well to maintain journalistic professionalism by verifying the information they have, which could easily be accomplished by sending an inquiry to the ministry.”
