More than 20 individuals convicted in Armenia for activities commissioned by Azerbaijan: NSS

Since 1993, more than two dozen individuals have been convicted in Armenia for working on behalf of Azerbaijani special services and carrying out tasks commissioned by them, stated NSS Major Tigran Davtavyan during a seminar for the media, according to Armenpress.

“These individuals worked in favor of Azerbaijan, gathering information related to military and scientific-technical sectors, and planning diversions and assassination attempts,” said Tigran Davtavyan.

The head of the NSS Scientific-Educational Center, Armen Kinaktsyan, added that they operate under the assumption that the number of recruits is higher and that they continuously search for these individuals.

“Some of the recruits report their connections and collaborations with the Azerbaijani side, thus relieving themselves of responsibility,” noted Armen Kinaktsyan. Experts added that they work on behalf of Armenia as that is an accepted practice.
