Court Rejects Armen Gevorgyan's Detention Request

The court has rejected the detention request for Armen Gevorgyan.

This was stated by former Deputy Prime Minister and accused in the case, Armen Gevorgyan, during a conversation with reporters following the court session.

It is reminded that Armen Gevorgyan was charged back in August 2018 with obstructing the administration of justice under part 3 of Article 332 of the RA Criminal Code, which is linked to a criminal case being investigated by the RA Special Investigative Service regarding the events that occurred in Yerevan from March 1 to 2, 2008.

As a measure of restraint, a signature not to leave was chosen for him.

His charges have now been supplemented. He is now accused under Article 38-300.1 of the RA Criminal Code for assisting in the overthrow of the constitutional order, under part 4, clause 2 of Article 311 of receiving a particularly large bribe, as well as under part 3, clause 1 of Article 190 for legalizing property obtained through criminal means, particularly in large amounts.
