Aliyev has a sincere, constructive desire to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue: Lavrov
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is ready to resume negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and seek constructive solutions. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to reporters in Baku on Friday.
“The day before yesterday, we had a very detailed, ongoing conversation with President Ilham Aliyev. We felt his sincere desire concerning the resumption of negotiations and the search for constructive solutions. As a country that is a close partner of both Azerbaijan and Armenia, and also a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group alongside the Americans and the French, we will do everything possible to create the conditions necessary to reach a compromise. We are not looking for a fundamentally new solution, as the foundations for resolution are clear, but we aim to find tactical, if you will, creative ideas that will help to achieve a compromise,” said Lavrov.
