Gas Prices Will Not Increase, Says Minister

The ongoing negotiations regarding gas pricing are still in progress, with no agreements reached at any point. This was stated by Acting Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Gagik Baghramyan in an interview with reporters after a government meeting.

The acting minister noted that the expiration of the contract at the end of December is not an issue, as it will be extended until the negotiations are completed.

According to Baghramyan, the negotiations are long, complex, and time-consuming.

“As long as there is no agreement, we will keep what we have today. The contract will automatically be extended; it’s not the case that we won’t have gas from January. The price will be determined when the negotiations are concluded. The price will remain as it is starting January 1 if negotiations have not been completed; we will keep what we have. Naturally, we are negotiating for a reduction in gas prices; no one is negotiating for an increase,” said Baghramyan.
