Former Bodyguard of Serzh Sargsyan to Remain in Custody for Another Two Months

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Robert Popoyan, has decided to extend the detention period of Vachagan Ghazaryan, the former head of Serzh Sargsyan's security detail, for an additional two months. This information was reported by Ghazaryan's lawyer, Armen Harutyunyan.

Harutyunyan intends to appeal the court's decision.

It is noteworthy that Ghazaryan was arrested on June 27, and a bail of 1 billion drams was initially set for his release. The prosecution appealed this decision, leading to a new ruling for Ghazaryan to be detained again.

Yesterday, Vachagan Ghazaryan released a statement expressing his willingness to return approximately $6 million to the state along with his associate.
