We All Need to Help Pashinyan: His Failure Would Be a Disaster for the Armenian People, Vardanyan

“No one knows who the ‘most correct’ person is to implement the transformation of a country like Armenia's economy because there are so many challenges. The country needs to be transformed and modernized in many sectors, in all sectors,” said Ruben Vardanyan, a Russian-Armenian businessman, in an interview with German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, referring to the victory of acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s team and his initiative for economic reforms.

Vardanyan emphasized that there is enormous work to be done, and whether Pashinyan’s team can accomplish this work is a pressing question.

“I believe we all need to help him because if he fails in this endeavor, it would be a disaster for the Armenian people. Not for the sake of his personality, but because of the method by which he came to power, people have given him a strong mandate and high hopes that he will be able to meet these very high expectations,” said Vardanyan.

The businessman noted that many of the changes will be painful for the people, and while Nikol Pashinyan lacks experience in economic reforms, he has the resources for unification and consolidation, and his team members are developed and skilled.
