Hayk Sargsyan's Trial to Continue Next Year

The next court session in the case of Hayk Sargsyan, son of Aleksandr Sargsyan, will take place on January 16, 2019. This decision was made by the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court, where the trial was held in Shengavit.

Hayk Sargsyan is charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition for a crime that occurred 11 years ago. He faces charges under Article 34-104, Part 1 (attempted murder) and Article 235, Part 1 (illegal acquisition and possession of weapons and ammunition) of the RA Criminal Code.

On April 1, 2007, at around 4:00 PM, he is accused of firing a SIGSAUER-type pistol, which he illegally possessed, at David Simonyan's abdomen in the basement of his residence located at 14 Tumanyan Street, Yerevan, with the intent to unlawfully deprive him of life. However, the crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond his control.
