Protest Action by Supporters of Robert Kocharyan Begins
A protest action by supporters of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, has begun in Republic Square.
The protesters decided to march to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia, demanding the release of Kocharyan.
The leader of the initiative group demanding Kocharyan's freedom, Armen Minasyan, announced that a long-term phase of struggle is starting from today.
“We are starting a fight, and this fight will be a long one, with the victorious outcome being the respect of the Constitution of Armenia, as well as the laws derived from it and international laws. There should be no place in Armenia for damages to human honor and dignity,” he stated.
He added, “Those declared guilty have been appointed by the media, forgetting that there is only one competent body for declaring guilt – the court, or rather, was, since there is no court anymore.”
