Naira Zohrabyan – Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly? "Zhamanak"
"Zhamanak" newspaper writes: "According to the Constitution, one of the Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly must be a representative of the opposition, and this position is granted to the non-governmental party that has received the most votes in the parliamentary elections: in this case, the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).
If in the previous parliament the BHK proposed Mikayel Melkumyan as a candidate for Deputy Speaker, this time he may be replaced by Naira Zohrabyan, who received three times as many votes as Melkumyan. This is despite the fact that the BHK's regional organization in Sisian primarily worked against Zohrabyan, and the head of the organization, Akhasi Hakobjanyan, effectively supported his son-in-law, Karen Hambardzumyan, who was nominated by "My Step."
