How the Governor of Ararat Region Transformed 383 Votes into 22,604

The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "The elections in the Ararat region not only marked the end of the Avsharian Grigoryans but also the Abrahamyans' 'era.' The niece of Hovik Abrahamyan, who was a candidate on the Prosperous Armenia Party’s proportional list, received only 146 votes, indicating a lack of support from her relatives. This means that Gagik Tsarukyan's son-in-law, Argam Abrahamyan, who had previously garnered over 30,000 votes in the last elections, falling just behind the Republican Party's Arayik Grigoryan, did not assist his relative. Instead, a new 'lord' emerged in the region – the regional governor Garik Sargsyan, about whom we received information throughout the election day that he had instructed, in the spirit of 'the good old days', to get voters to the polling stations at any cost, while he had a 'plan' set for village chiefs. It is symbolic that in the previous elections, Sargsyan, who was also nominated as a village chief and received close to 300 votes, is now among the top five of 'My Step's' proportional candidates with over 22,000 votes."
