These Elections Were Nikol Pashinyan's Whim: Ashotyan

Taking into account the preliminary data on voter participation presented by the Central Electoral Commission, Armen Ashotyan has made his first political assessments.

On his Facebook page, he specifically noted:

“The elections that took place amidst a grand announcement and unprecedented political persecutions, resulting in direct pressures on the activities of the National Assembly, saw participation of less than 50% of voters—48.63%. This proves that the early parliamentary elections held in December were not a 'popular demand,' but rather the outcome of Nikol Pashinyan's personal political calculations and interests.

The snap elections did not become a basis for the 'velvet' regime’s national benefit, regardless of the percentages they garnered. Nikol Pashinyan’s nationwide campaign did not help; a Facebook Live was powerless, and the enormous administrative resource exerted was in vain.

These elections were Nikol Pashinyan's whim against the backdrop of people's apathy and disappointment.”
