The Voter Cast Their Vote for the Individual, Not the Idea or Program: Statement from the ARF

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), which did not overcome the electoral threshold in the parliamentary elections, has issued a statement analyzing the reasons for its defeat. The text of the statement is as follows:

“As a result of the snap parliamentary elections, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation will not be represented in the 7th convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. This is a defeat, but it is not a defeat of our voters.

In this defeat, we see the following:

A. The voter today cast their vote for the individual, not for the idea or program.

B. A significant portion of the electorate is currently focused on the image of the 'internal enemy' and is alarmingly indifferent to external and internal threats.

C. The approaches of the Federation are perceived by the minority today.

D. The Artsakh factor is not adequately emphasized in the political agenda.

E. The National Assembly is being formed without a clear ideological and national profile.

A. Gained a realistic understanding of the supporters who will join our struggle. This army is small but real, its decision is clear, not trendy, and is dictated solely by internal conviction and clear awareness. No unconscious votes, no random people.

B. Were able to debate, voice our concerns, counter dangerous trends, and present our arguments. At this moment, our words lacked widespread perception and were underestimated; however, we managed to highlight the situation from a neglected perspective, creating a reason for thought and analysis, and awakening vigilance. Over time, impartial citizens who care about the fate of the homeland and accurately understand the significance of the Artsakh issue will correlate the daily news they receive with our expressed concerns and will realize what we were talking about and warning against.

We thank the citizens who voted for the ARF, and we thank our youth for:

• Unconditional dedication and fiery energy,
• Putting soul into our common cause,
• Linking their lives with the most national and responsible organization of the Armenian people.
