Serezh, You Must Be Able to Answer for Your Words: Ashotyan
Republican Party Vice President Armen Ashotyan has responded on his Facebook page to rock musician Serj Tankian.
“I regret that Serj Tankian, who elevates our country's name in the cultural sphere, makes irresponsible statements.
Today, Serj Tankian commented on the snap elections taking place in Armenia and, for some unknown reason, decided to interpret my words in his emotional status.
Serezh, no matter how famous and beloved you are, and no matter how much you elevate our country's name, you must be able to answer for your words according to the law. When you state that ‘after 20 years of plundering the country, Ashotyan says that there is little time for campaigning,’ you are inadvertently or intentionally reporting a crime and making a personal accusation against me, which, I hope, the Armenian police will respond to. Otherwise, it will be definitively confirmed that we have real electoral justice in our country.
I hope you will be summoned by one of Armenia's law enforcement agencies to substantiate your words. It is time for everyone to take responsibility for what they say and do, EVERYONE.
Regarding my statement about the little time for campaigning, I must reiterate my words. Yes, 12 days is very little, but I must disappoint you and your supporters: we managed to present what we have and explain what potential our team has and what we can do in those 12 days.
I wish you a good day, dear Serj, and I hope that one day you will have a tangible contribution to building a strong and developed Armenia… for example, you will finally buy the house you have promised for so long and return to your homeland,” Ashotyan wrote.
