One Criminal Case Initiated from 81 Reports of Violations
In connection with the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia, the operational headquarters of the police has gathered 81 reports related to electoral violations, announced Ashot Sargsyan, Deputy Head of the Police Headquarters and Head of the Inspectorate, at a press conference today.
Out of the 81 reports, 26 contained indications of corruption-related crimes, while the rest involved other information subject to verification.
According to Sargsyan, 3 out of the 26 reports regarding crimes are currently under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee, and a criminal case has been initiated in one instance. Work is underway at the police on the remaining 23 cases. Of the 55 reports pending verification, 18 have been dismissed as unfounded, while checks are being conducted on 37 others.
