Difficult Access Roads Across Armenia, Black Ice Reported in Some Areas

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that as of December 9 at 09:25, there are difficult access roads throughout the country, with black ice present in some areas.

The Vardenyats Pass and the Sotk-Karabakh highway are impassable.

Black ice is reported on the Vardenyats Pass, as well as the Sotk-Karabakh, Ashotzk-Bavra, and Saravan-Zanger roads.

In the Gegharkunik region, the towns of Gavar, Martuni, Sevan, and Jambarak, as well as Vardenyats Pass, are experiencing snowfall.

Fog has been reported in the towns of Talin in the Aragatsotn region, and Goris, Kapan, Kajaran, and Meghri in the Syunik region.

Drivers are advised to travel in the regions exclusively with winter tires.

According to information received from the emergency management agency of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open to all types of vehicles.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations from North Ossetia, there are piled-up vehicles on the Russian side of the border.
