Prisoners Can Now Utilize Video Call Opportunities

Since November 1, 2018, foreign detainees or prisoners whose close relatives are unable to visit them, as well as those detainees or prisoners whose close relatives cannot take advantage of brief visits, are provided with the opportunity to use video calls twice a month for up to twenty minutes each.

It is reported that as a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the International Committee of the Red Cross, all correctional institutions of the Ministry of Justice have been equipped with the necessary technical equipment for the implementation of video calls. Additionally, there are two such devices available at the Armavir penitentiary.

We urge those deprived of freedom to take advantage of their video call opportunities and maintain their connection with the outside world.
