Aram from Bulki Still Untouchable: Parliament Session Did Not Take Place
The latest session of the National Assembly did not take place as there was no quorum, with the necessary 53 MPs absent from the meeting.
Today’s session was supposed to address the question of granting consent to deprive MP Aram Khachik Harutyunyan of his freedom and to initiate criminal proceedings against him.
Aram Harutyunyan is accused of committing particularly severe crimes against public service and economic activities. The prosecution states that the combination of evidence obtained in the criminal case provides sufficient grounds to involve MP Aram Harutyunyan as a defendant in this case and to charge him with accepting a bribe of particularly large sums under point 2 of part 4 of Article 311 of the RA Criminal Code, as well as for the legalization of income gained through criminal means under point 1 of part 3 of Article 190.
Aram Harutyunyan is accused of receiving a $14 million bribe for granting a mining operating license.
