Robert Kocharyan Addresses the Court

I do not believe that a decision will be made today; it is likely that another hearing will be scheduled for tomorrow, considering the current pace and speed. This was stated by Aram Orbelian, the defense lawyer of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, during a conversation with journalists.

It should be noted that the Court of Appeals of Armenia is continuing to examine the appeal aimed at overturning the decision to arrest Robert Kocharyan based on immunity grounds, in a closed session today.

The lawyer reported that Robert Kocharyan was present at the session and delivered a speech. He did not provide details about the speech, only mentioning that it was not about political issues but rather related to the ongoing process.

“Now we need to address the relevant objections from the prosecutors regarding the specific preventive measure, after which the remaining issues will be discussed. At this moment, they have requested a short break, but I believe a normal recess should be given, at least 1 to 1.5 hours,” he said.

Journalists inquired what outcome he predicts from this judicial process, to which he responded that he is always optimistic and believes the outcome will be positive for them. He also commented on the emerging opinion that 'there are no untouchable people.'
