Ministry of Defense Invites Specialists for Contractual Employment with Salaries Ranging from 105,000 to 165,000 Dram

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia offers military service on a contractual basis in border units of the armed forces for positions including senior shooter, shooter, sniper, grenade launcher, marksman, senior driver (B, C, D), driver (B, C), senior cook, cook, and diesel-electric mechanic.

This was stated in a declaration by the Ministry's Information and Public Relations Department. The replenishment of the contractual servicemen of the Armed Forces is carried out in accordance with the law of the Republic of Armenia “On Military Service and the Status of Military Servicemen.” Citizens under the age of 36, who have not previously served in contractual military service and are registered in the reserve, regardless of gender, are eligible to apply for contractual military service.

However, individuals cannot be admitted to contractual military service if they:

• Have not completed mandatory military service in violation of the law,
• Are subject to criminal prosecution or have an unresolved or recording conviction,
• Are unsuitable for military service due to health reasons.

To apply for contractual military service, one must approach the commanders of the relevant military units or the territorial military commissariats. If the citizen meets the requirements for contractual military service, a three-year contract will be signed with them in accordance with the law “On Military Service and the Status of Military Servicemen.”

Contractual servicemen are entitled to all privileges, guarantees, and compensations provided by legislation for military personnel. The average salary for a contractual serviceman is around 105,000 Armenian drams (before income tax). Due to combat readiness, contractual servicemen may also receive an additional allowance of up to 60,000 Armenian drams.
