The opposition is prepared to fight in any form. This was stated by Samvel Karapetyan, the candidate for Prime Minister from the 'Strong Armenia' party and a businessman and philanthropist, during a meeting with a group of editors from Armenian media outlets while under house arrest.

In response to the question of whether the opposition is ready for street protests, Karapetyan assured that they are ready to fight in any type. According to him, the current events—searches and the criminal prosecution of Andranik Tevanyan and others—are the result of internal processes within the ruling party. They have resorted to repression after visiting the provinces and witnessing the disastrous decline in their ratings. However, this will not help them: if one is arrested, thousands of others will take their place, Karapetyan noted.

Responding to a request to clarify what kind of deal the authorities had proposed to him, Karapetyan stated that a proposal was conveyed to him while he was in his cell. The proposal had been transmitted through Russian friends, but prior to that, even before his arrest, he was offered at a high level to meet in a crowded place for coffee and declare that he would not defend the church. After that, the power company and everything else would be returned. “I did not accept the proposal and moved forward,” Karapetyan recorded.
