We Will Provide Active Support to Our Fraternal People - Zakharova

Against the backdrop of pressure from the United States, Russia reaffirms its complete solidarity with Cuba and condemns any attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, stated the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"In this regard, we reaffirm our complete solidarity with Cuba, resolutely condemning any attempts at gross interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, as well as the use of threats and illegal unilateral restrictive measures, intimidation, and blackmail. We will continue to provide the most active support to our fraternal Cuban people during this extremely challenging time," she said during a press briefing.

Earlier, U.S. authorities had brought charges against former Cuban leader Raul Castro and other individuals for conspiracy to kill Americans. U.S. President Donald Trump declined to comment on the possibility of a repetition of a forceful scenario in Cuba similar to that in Venezuela.
