Putin Signals to the West: What Happened in China
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a signal to the West during his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, writes L’Antidiplomatico.
“The political message for Putin is clear. Russia and China pursue an independent and sovereign foreign policy, operate in close strategic coordination, and play a significant stabilizing role on the global stage,” the publication states.
The article notes that during the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two Eurasian countries were discussed, leading to the signing of a joint declaration and approximately forty intergovernmental, interagency, and corporate documents.
Putin visited China on an official trip from May 19-20. Discussions were held on Wednesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing in both narrow and expanded formats.
