Dismissed from Position for Attending a Rally: 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'On October 19, 2023, Tavush regional governor Hayk Ghalumyan appointed Artur Melikyan as the coordinator of the administrative and economic part of the Aygedzor secondary school, signing a five-year employment contract with him. However, on May 14, he was dismissed from his position for attending a rally of the 'Strong Armenia' alliance in Berd community. In response to the newspaper's question about whether it is true that he was dismissed for attending the 'Strong Armenia' gathering, he stated, 'This is not correct, he was dismissed much earlier. When? 'A long time ago'. When asked to specify the date, he said, 'I don’t remember.'
‘From his tone, one could infer that he was scared and constrained. We called Hayk Tsaghkanyan, the director of Aygedzor secondary school, to inquire when Artur Melikyan was dismissed. He responded that it was on May 14, and added that the coordinator of the administrative and economic part is appointed and dismissed by the governor, and he does not know why Melikyan was dismissed.
For participating in the pre-election campaign, Tavush governor Hayk Ghalumyan has been on leave since May 8, with his deputy Narek Ghushtchyan replacing him. Decisions by the governor and his deputy are published on the Tavush regional administration's website. The only and last decision published on the site by the deputy governor N. Ghushtchyan is dated May 11, and there is no decision regarding A. Melikyan’s dismissal on the site. Meanwhile, official decisions come into force from the moment they are published,' the newspaper wrote.
