Former Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office Yermak Released

Andriy Yermak, the former head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, has been released from the detention center where he had been held for the past several days. His release was made possible after the full payment of 140 million hryvnias (approximately $3.2 million) as set by the court.

The information has been confirmed by local sources and members of the Verkhovna Rada. While free, Yermak will be subject to several restrictions. He is required to wear an electronic bracelet, cannot leave the capital city of Kyiv without appropriate permission, and must appear before law enforcement and court authorities at their request.

Additionally, the former official has surrendered his foreign and diplomatic passports and is prohibited from contacting other individuals involved in the criminal case.

Andriy Yermak is suspected of laundering approximately 460 million hryvnias in connection with an organized group, which, according to the investigation’s theory, were funneled through the construction of an elite residential complex in the Kyiv region.

He was dismissed in late 2025 amidst a corruption scandal, and formal charges were brought against him on May 11 of the current year. On May 14, the court decided to place him in custody for 60 days with an alternative of bail. The former official had previously stated that he was not personally managing such a large sum of money, and that the funds were collected with assistance from other individuals.
