Under What Conditions is Detained Andrey Yermak Being Held?
The former head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andrey Yermak, has been placed in a paid cell at a detention center, according to his lawyer, Igor Fomin.
The former office head of Volodymyr Zelensky is accused of legalization of funds through the construction of elite apartments. A ruling by Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday resulted in Yermak's detention but set a bail option of $3.1 million.
Yermak has indicated that he does not possess such an amount, and the defense team intends to appeal the court's decision. “I know that we have paid for his cell… I personally paid,” Fomin was quoted by Ukrainian public television.
