Margarita Simonyan to Sue Media Outlets

The editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT television channel, Margarita Simonyan, plans to sue Euronews for publishing a fake video featuring her. She announced this on her Telegram channel.

The video in question, created using artificial intelligence, allegedly shows Simonyan commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Yerevan. The American publication Newsweek and the European channel Euronews published articles using the footage.

"We clearly explained to both media outlets that it is fake. However, Newsweek merely added a note that RT considers the video fake, while Euronews made no changes," Simonyan wrote.

She urged journalists and users to be more vigilant in checking their information sources, especially in the case of controversial videos.

"If even large international media outlets have fallen for fake news, what can we say about the unprepared audience? I will probably sue Euronews," Simonyan noted.
