David Ishkhanyan Cannot Be Released from Baku, Pashinyan Explains Why
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that Armenia's political rhetoric influences the process of returning prisoners held in Baku.
“They see what kind of rhetoric David Ishkhanyan's party members are using in Armenia; does this impact the overall processes? Of course, it does,” he stated during an interview with journalists.
Pashinyan noted that the same applies to the case of David Babayan. Azerbaijan is also monitoring the rhetoric of his associates, which again has an effect.
“If the Armenian Revolutionary Federation is developing the idea that they will bring back Artsakh, is it rational for Azerbaijan to try to release a representative of the same political force as soon as possible to join that process? How could they bring it back? It is clear that this is a conflict-based rhetoric, which will lead to some manifestation at some point,” he declared.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that there cannot be any positive outcome regarding the freedom of a representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) while the ARF is using aggressive, conflictual rhetoric in Armenia.
