Visa-Free Europe: Armenia Enters a New Phase, Says Minister of Internal Affairs

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan, has addressed citizens, providing details about the visa liberalization process between Armenia and the EU. The minister emphasized that there is indeed historic progress in this direction.

"We are the only country in the world with which the European Union is actively discussing visa liberalization. I know how significant the public's expectations are regarding the visa liberalization process, so we are sharing every development with you in an open, transparent, and responsible manner," Sargsyan stated.

According to the minister, after the official start of dialogue, Armenia received an action plan in a record short time frame and under high confidence conditions, while European partners recently presented the first progress report.

"Armenia has created accelerated pace in several areas. This means we have done more than what was even expected at this stage," the Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized, adding that the European Commission President also highly appreciated the efforts and progress made by the Armenian side.

Summarizing her remarks as the Armenian negotiator, Arpine Sargsyan assured, "This is about new opportunities for us, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, closer ties, and being closer to Europe. I assure you that we will continue our diligent work, moving forward with clear steps towards the goal of visa-free movement and dignified travel."
