Turkey and Armenia Begin Direct Trade, Says Foreign Minister
Preparatory work for the launch of direct trade between Turkey and Armenia has been completed. This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It was announced that according to the new regulations, goods arriving from Turkey to Armenia via third countries or the same route may now designate "Armenia/Turkey" as the final destination or country of origin.
Within the context of the ongoing normalization process of relations with Armenia, measures to build trust have been accepted, and the bureaucratic preparations for the commencement of direct trade between our country and Armenia were completed by May 11, 2026. Necessary technical and bureaucratic work for reopening the common border between the two countries is ongoing,” wrote diplomat Oncu Kechelin on X.
