Someone is Guiding Her in a Certain Direction: Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has stated that the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, is expressing foreign ideas that are outside her mandate.
In addressing Kallas's activities, which are characterized by scandalous statements regarding Russia, Zakharova pointed out that this official expresses thoughts that are beyond her powers, and it remains unclear who is dictating these ideas.
On Monday, Kallas suggested that she could act as a negotiator for the European Union in future dialogues with Russia. Zakharova commented on this statement with a single word: 'Useless.'
'It is obvious that someone is writing something for her, that someone is guiding her in a certain direction. Only nobody can understand who has commissioned this for her. And do you know why they can’t understand it? Because these statements she makes are outside her mandate. She has no right to declare such things,' Zakharova remarked during an interview on Sputnik radio.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that more and more people in the European Union are questioning who Kaja Kallas is and on whose behalf she is speaking.
'This is starting to resemble a show, where cheerful characters, such as cheerful frogs and other figures, boys, girls, children, seem to just be uttering words, opening their mouths... As children grow older, they begin to realize that it is not the cheerful Kermit the Frog speaking, but rather an actor who has invented that character,' Zakharova explained.
