Will the US Strike Iran Again?

US President Donald Trump is seriously considering the possibility of resuming military operations against Iran, CNN reports, citing sources.

According to the source, Trump is dissatisfied with Tehran's negotiations regarding the cessation of hostilities. Some aides to the White House leader have indicated that he is now more determined than in recent weeks.

Sources indicate that the American leader is 'losing patience' due to the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the existing divisions within the Iranian leadership, which he believes hinder any concessions in nuclear talks.

The source mentioned that Tehran's recent proposal, which Trump called 'completely unacceptable' and 'ridiculous,' has raised doubts at the White House about whether the Iranians are willing to take serious negotiation positions.

Sources noted that there are differing factions within Trump's administration. In particular, the Pentagon is in favor of a more aggressive approach towards Iran. Others, according to the sources, continue to argue that diplomacy should be given a chance.

Additionally, many in the US President's circle want Pakistani mediators to be much more direct and firm in their communications with the Iranians. Some officials doubt whether the Pakistanis are conveying the US President’s dissatisfaction with the negotiation process in the same tone that he expresses.

According to two sources, some also believe that Pakistan often presents a 'more positive version' of Iran's stance to the US than what actually exists.
