Response to the Deployment of Iranian Military Aircraft: What to Expect
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially denied information disseminated by the American CBS News channel, which claimed that Iran had relocated its military and civilian aircraft to Pakistani territory to protect against potential American strikes. The official Islamabad characterized the published reports as misleading and not corresponding to reality, noting that such statements are aimed at undermining regional stability.
The American media outlet, citing its sources, alleged that several Iranian aircraft, including a modified RC-130 intended for reconnaissance, had arrived at the "Nur Khan" airbase located south of Islamabad. According to the publication, Tehran has sought to ensure the security of its aviation fleet by utilizing the airspace and infrastructure of neighboring countries, including Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Pakistani diplomatic department clarified that the presence of the aircraft in the country is solely based on diplomatic grounds. It was noted that during the initial phase of negotiations between the US and Iran, aircraft from both countries arrived in Pakistan to transport delegations, security personnel, and administrative staff. Some of the aircraft remained in the country temporarily, awaiting the next stages of negotiations.
According to the department's statement, the Iranian aircraft currently in Pakistan arrived during the establishment of a ceasefire regime and have no connection to military operations or special defensive measures. Islamabad emphasized that any other interpretation lacks factual basis and does not align with the context of current events.
