Prosecutor's Office Sends Request to Belarus for Nver Tsarukyan's Extradition to Armenia

On January 10, 2025, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus received a request regarding the extradition of Nver Tsarukyan to Armenia for criminal prosecution. This was confirmed by the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia in response to an inquiry from Auroranews.am.

“On November 14, 2025, we received a letter from the Prosecutor's Office of Belarus informing us that the extradition request will be discussed based on applicable international treaties after locating and arresting him within the territory of Belarus,” the statement added.

It is also noted that on January 24, 2025, the Prosecutor's Office informed that materials separate from the criminal case concerning the participants involved in hooliganism and robbery committed with the use of weapons on October 26, 2024, at the casino in Tsakhkadzor, were submitted to the first instance general jurisdiction court of Kotayk Province. The public criminal prosecution against the security personnel of N. Tsarukyan, M. S., G. D., and D. M. was initiated on January 13, 2025, under Article 253, Part 2, Points 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code (committing robbery by damaging property designated for its protection by a group of persons acting in preliminary agreement), as well as under Article 474, Part 2, Point 1 (aiding a person committing a crime by a group of persons acting in preliminary agreement).

The prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against two more security employees of N. Tsarukyan, A. A. and A. M., on September 4, 2025, during the pre-investigation phase concerning the criminal case being investigated by the Investigative Committee, under Article 253, Part 2, Points 1 and 2, and Article 474, Part 2, Point 1 of the Criminal Code. The portion regarding A. A. was submitted to the first instance general jurisdiction court of Kotayk Province on October 31, 2025, with an indictment approved by the prosecutor. A. M. has been placed on the wanted list,” the Prosecutor's Office reported.
